Wearing out Shoes

I’ve travelled many journeys,
worn out Many shoes,
it’s finding if the shoe fits that gets me confused.
I take those gambles and roll dice that lose me the game,
leave me unsure who is the one to blame.
I make mistakes, I cant distinguish fakes,
let people have all they can take then wonder why my feet ache.
I’ll carry on travelling until I know my part,
but every enigma breaks my heart.
I feel prepared for the trouble until it rips me apart.
I give my faith out like flyers on a street side,
and then attempt to make out it didn’t hurt my pride when it’s not the real thing.
Each time it’s like something just leaves me, I feel the sting.
I’ve landed many places, seen many faces, felt many embraces but to which one lies truth?
Are you really here to the end?
I feel I need proof incase you pretend.
I’m not just talking about lying lovers, it’s false friendship that when discovered, is what truly breaks me.
So then on my travels it takes me.
I’ll find some new shoes, use them on the journey I now embark.
I’ve got to keep moving away from the dark.
But sometimes I wonder if I do blunder because the dark walks beside me, or is indeed inside me.
I’ll keep travelling in these shoes until my feet bleed,
I’m going to wear out every shoe until I find what I need.
I feel I’l run from darkness until the very end, because I’l never accept, the dark’s my only friend.

"I am a poor, wayfaring stranger"
