Sometimes people are so self absorbed it makes me sick
look around you or what you want you self righteous prick
It's like a terrorist attack had just happened
and you aint noticed you're too engrossed in the most trivial of shit.
Someone just stabbed your nan you wouldn't notice one bit.
Okay, that was a bit mean, bit harsh,
but your brain is like a marsh of yourself,
your trudging through...thinking about only you,
when the grass is greener and the sky is blue.
Every piece of advice is a criticism,
nothing is constructed,
if it goes into debate then something has erupted.
If I do something nice for you,
you proceed in reminding me how much you've done for me,
and yeh I get you're insecure but it ain't no fun for me.
I'm not a loan shark, I'm your mate,
if you can't pay me back yet, I can wait,
but I don't need you to bash on about how you've lent me cash.
It's getting fucking irritating, a bit like a rash.
There's people in this world who are in so much pain,
you having the audacity to say you hurt drives me insane,
because you don't have the capacity to know what it must be like for them.
You've got everything you need, remember that.
You're driving at speed but your driving inside.
Have a little, respect now, have a little pride.
It's not all about you, it's about others too... don't get me wrong,
I know I belong in these verses somewhere before,
but they were curses and I wanted more.
It doesn't do be so self involved,
I feel I have evolved from thinking it's all about me.
That's why I'm writing this so maybe you'll see.
Check your eyesight, look around, furtures bright, things are sound.
And yes I can see sometimes we ALL do it,
gets a bit ME ME ME,
but have some respect for those who are truly are in need.
Unhappy families, or no families at all,
barriers blocking, imprisoning walls.
You have feast and they have famine,
so examine yourself, look at your own path,
your luck your opportunity,
be a community not a number one-er.
Because if you stay like it, your mates will do a runner.
Now get out of your head, get out of bed,
and be thankful for life, for once, instead.
