Here's me trying to move my little counter forward in this board game of living.
Here's me trying to count my blessings, for having so much and your giving,
and yes I've learnt some lessons because there's a new one every day,
and i'll keep spilling these confessions because there's so much more to say.
There's so much that I've kept under lock and key,
I needed to knock the door to what's in store, and see.
I don't know what the future holds really but I know what I hold dear,
what I fear and what I'd like to happen this year.
I'm forever walking on this unstable wave rocking peer,
squinting out to sea, sometimes I'm unable because there's just too many tears to see through.
I put on my glasses and I still cannot view my surroundings,
but I feel the world moving around me,
I am blind, bound but blitzed with sound,
calling me in the direction of my resurrection.
Each knock on this door is deafening and groans,
each foot on deck is threatening and moans under each step I take,
moaning like peer is gonna break.
Each warning sound stops me and makes me feel inept.
But I must keep travelling to unravel what is kept.
I'll move my little counter one place forward in this life changing game,
I don't know what I might win, money, power or fame.
Or maybe things will just remain the same.
But each time the counter moves a new life encounter proves
that life is more than just something you can win or lose.
Life is something that you can use.
Keep knocking on that door,
try and amount to more,
don't let the waves that break on the peer,
shake you from the path that is clear.
Keep rolling the dice, trying to win,
may not always be nice, just never give in.
