The lynch mob

Here comes the lynch mob to get me, so come with your torches,
you wont upset me, it tortures me with regret that it's come to this,
and I'll hear your fires burning, crackling hiss.
All I'll do is miss the good times before you committed such crimes against me.
Maybe I deserve it, maybe I'm perverted,
but I thought you were worth it, once upon a time,
you gave me your love once and I gave you mine.
The mob is coming, I'm not running,
there's nothing to run from, not when you come from where I've been,
and what I've seen,
I regret my weakness but I'm trying to clean up my act,
be a good person and that's a fact.
I've said sorry, time and time again,
it won't ever be enough, I accept,
its torture enough just to reflect.
I'm driven away by myself not you,
I'm driven to other places and ventures new.
Put on your hoods, you haven't quite understood me,
get the coal, matches, wood and come see me burn like the wicker man,
I'm slicker than that. I don't wanna bicker like that.
I want to be strong and I am, so come for me, if you can,
come try carry me away with the pack.
I regret what I said and its compassion you lack.
He who is without sin cast the first stone,
I have developed, risen, grown.
Hands reach at me to grab at me, have a stab at me.

I'll be strong and won't do the wrong thing and react,

 you haven't got me, I haven't cracked.
