and So, I broke free from the ashes and the demons that held
like magnetic force, I broke free and repelled
and to rise again, from the abyss of black
felt like coming home, like coming back,
but I was different, better, something had changed in me,
and I saw all the spectrum of possibility ranged in me
the ability I had to be strong, be stronger than I had been,
and it was like a stranger looking on what's been done and seen,
it appeared that change was clear in my resurrection
powers had stepped in, of right and correction,
and this was unlike all the other time's I've flown
I had been in chrysalis, developed and grown,
and it was like awakening from sleep for the first time in years
something had soothed, me settled my fears
I was strong, I am strong, I've been strong,
and everything I'd done, even what was wrong
had all been a test, to see if I deserved the insight,
and spreading my hopes and wings, took flight
Life could bring anything, and I'd be ready for it,
I could be a survivor, instead of
a victim, I can handle the world that we live in,
and I was no longer recoiled in reliving
the paths that I had walked, and this delivering
a new bit of sight that appeared on my crown
I would look to the sky and never back down
I was a piece of the earth, nature's child
no longer felt outcast, creature of the wild
I'd been living in regret, and riddled with my past
I knew to embrace the future, it's happening fast.
